It's not often that I write a post dedicated to one single product. I much prefer writing edits of my collections rather than reviews, but sometimes a product comes along that you fall in love with so much that you just have to shout it from the rooftops. For me lately, that product is the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. Over time, I've found myself with four shades from the line, which I realize is not all that impressive compared to some collections - Bow N Arrow, Lolita, Lovesick, and Mother.
Bow N Arrow is described as a "fawn nude." It's the most perfect brown-toned nude. It's got a hint of pink and warmth so it's not that true greige color, and it's really quite wearable. Bow N Arrow is a great shade for everyday because it's truly a perfect neutral - it goes with everything.
Lolita, as I'm sure you all know, is that quintessential, wildly-hyped dusty rose. I've seen it look quite mauve-y on some people, but on my pink-toned skin it pulls quite red-toned. This is the one that really made me fall for these liquid lipsticks and neutral lips in general, so it'll always be a favorite.
Lovesick is another super nice color for everyday. It's just a nice, simple mauve-y pink nude. It's an incredibly color on its own, but it's also stunning when mixed with Bow N Arrow.
Mother is the boldest option I've got. I ordered it online when the new shades were released last summer, basing my decision on Sephora's description saying it was a "dusty mauve pink." It's not exactly dusty compared to other dusty mauves in my collection, but it sure is a nice color. It's quite the complexion-brightener, so it's the perfect pick for when you want to liven up your face without picking a super bold shade.
The colors offered in the line are all unique and stunning - I've got my eye on a couple of the bold colors next, from the raspberry Bauhau5 to the deep vampy Exorcism.
So the colors are really something extraordinary, and the formula is as well. The liquid lipsticks I've tried usually fall within two categories - they're either liquid-y, or they're mousse-y. These are more on the liquid-y side of things. They easily paint onto and coat the lips in a single coat (though I have heard some of the darker shades take some more effort to build up). The doe-foot applicator is short and slightly stiffer than others I've used, which makes it easier to apply precisely. The more liquid-y formulas are typically long-lasting but not quite as comfortable on this lips, but for me, these are both. They don't dry out my lips or settle into lines, except maybe after wearing them for hours and hours, and they can easily last a whole day on me without needing to touch up. Of course, if I eat a huge greasy meal, there's going to be some wear-and-tear, but these put up quite the fight against my daily turkey sandwiches.
