If you've learned anything about me by now, it should probably be that when Glossier comes out with something new, I'm without a doubt going to order it. As soon as I saw them hinting that their latest release would be makeup, I went weak in the knees and prepared my bank account. Their new Phase 2 Set continues perfectly where the Phase 1 Set left off - after all, their motto is "skin first, makeup second." The set comes with the previously released (and raved about by me) Boy Brow, and new releases Stretch Concealer and Generation G Sheer Matte Lipstick. All three products are available separately, but it does save you $2 by buying them in the set.
Boy Brow | As I said, Boy Brow had already been available when the set was released. It's more of a pomade than a gel, so it sets your brows into place while still staying soft and flexible, like natural brow hairs, rather than crispy. It adds the perfect amount of fullness and tint to the brows - if you're blessed with already full brows, this will be the one product you need. I use this without fail every morning to beef up my brows, and then I go in with a little bit of brow pencil to fill in the sparser bits. Using this as my first step drastically simplifies my brow routine, and I only need a tiny bit of the pencil to complete the look. I use the shade Brown.
Stretch Concealer | At this point, Glossier's Perfecting Skin Tint has been pretty much the only base product I wear, so when I found out they were making a concealer, to say I was excited would be an understatement. The idea behind the "stretch" aspect of it is that it's formulated with elastic micro-waxes that are able to move with the skin - this way, it won't cake up, and you won't have to rein in your facial expressions to try and save your concealer. It contains avocado and jojoba oils to give it a more dewy finish, making it look like your own skin. I've been absolutely in love with this - it works a dream on the undereyes and makes me look peppy and awake. It works well on other areas of redness and on blemishes - it's buildable so you can customize the level of pigment you need, and because it's so hydrating it won't get hung up on crusty old spots. I wear the shade Light.
Generation G | If you haven't noticed by now, pretty much all of Glossier's products have an amazingly creative amount of innovation behind them. Be it the use of the contact solution ingredients in the cleanser, the oils in the concealer, or the use of sericite mica in the new lip product to turn a tinted balm-type product into a sheer lipstick that's matte. I've never used a lip product like this - it glides on like a balm, but it looks and lasts like a stain. I bought the shade Like in the set (pictured above), and it adds the prettiest flush of pink to the lips. It's perfect for a fresh, minimal look. I fell in love with it so much that I picked up the shade Jam, a beautiful deep berry. This color is stunning as a stain - it really gives the look of Popsicle-lips.
I couldn't be more impressed with Glossier's first venture into makeup. Sure enough, I'll be first in line for any of their future releases. Have you tried anything from the Phase 2 Set?
