Once again I'm here to start off a monthly favorites post with a cringe-worthy "I can't believe how quickly time is passing" sentiment. Like most months before it, November completely flew by. I managed to try quite a few new things in November, especially thanks to the Sephora sale early in the month, so I've got a nice bit of fun things to share.
I've gone on and on about the Anastasia Beverly Hills Self-Made Eyeshadow Palette this month (I wrote a full review and also featured it in my latest Makeup Lately), so it's probably no surprise that I'm featuring it in my favorites. It's been the only eyeshadow product I've reached for this month because of it's incredible longevity. It's hard to grab anything else when I know these shadows will stay looking perfect all day. My favorite shades have been Treasure, Hot & Cold, and Metallic Plum. They're so pigmented and blendable that I can do a whole everyday eye look with just one brush (my trusty MAC 217 of course), which also makes it so tempting to use every day.
Another product from Anastasia Beverly Hills I've been dousing myself in lately is their Illuminator in the shade Starlight. It's the most beautiful white gold shade that doesn't look too icy nor too warm on my pale skin. It's not packed with frosty, noticeable shimmer like some intense highlights, but instead gives the most believable dewy glow to the skin. It's easy to get a subtle highlight or really pile it on until you're a beacon of light, which is personally my favorite look. This looks stunning as an inner corner highlight as well.
Speaking of cheek products, in the Sephora VIB Sale I finally picked up the Too Faced Love Flush Long-Lasting 16-Hour Blush in the shade Baby Love. In the weeks leading up to this purchase I had barely worn blush at all, but this little beauty has got me on the blush train again. It's the perfect understated neutral that goes with every look. I can get quite a bit of redness in my cheeks, but I like that this doesn't exaggerate that. Instead it adds a lovely bit of definition that brings some life into my face.
The other favorite I got in the VIB Sale is the Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon in Glace (see what else I picked up in the sale here). This is one of the nicest matte formulas I've tried - it's still incredibly creamy and comfortable on the lips but doesn't slip and slide everywhere. The color is a typical "me" shade, being a dusty mauve, but I really do think it's a unique addition to my collection. I love the pencil packaging, too, as it makes it super easy to apply and carry around.
The last makeup bit I've got to talk about is also a lip product - the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk. Yes, I finally caved and got my hands on this. It's definitely worth every bit of hype it receives. It doesn't show up as pink on me as on some other people, but I'm assuming it's because I've got a lot of pink in my skin, and my lips are already quite pink in tone already. It comes out as the most beautiful neutral peachy shade on me and makes for the perfect nude lip. I especially like wearing it underneath the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipshine in Boy, which I talked about here.
I talked about all my skincare favorites on Saturday, but there's one last bit I missed. I picked up the Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm on a whim earlier in the month, knowing my hands get horrendously dry and cracked throughout the winter, so I was hoping to quell that. I've been slathering this on every night before bed, and I haven't been suffering with dryness yet. I love that it sinks in quickly and doesn't feel greasy at all - it would be a great one to pop in your everyday bag as well. What puts this over the top for me is the smell - it smells so herbal and lovely and because I always apply it before I go to bed, the scent has become so relaxing to me.
What were your favorites in November? Anything I need to try in December?
