You may have seen in my Sephora VIB Sale Haul that I picked up a couple things from Belif, a Korean skincare brand that's now being carried at Sephora. Now that I've been trying them out for a few weeks, I thought I'd jump in and give you my thoughts on them
The first thing I picked up was the True Cream Aqua Bomb. I included this in my Current Skincare Loves of the month because I had been using a sample size before I shelled out the money for the full size. It's honestly one of the best moisturizers I've ever used - never before have I used a moisturizer that's so hydrating. It really feels like you're giving your skin an instant drink of water. You can feel it plump up the skin as it's so intensely hydrating - my skin feels so "bouncy" after applying. Despite being so hydrating, it's not greasy in the slightest. It's actually more of a gel-like consistency, so it feels incredibly lightweight to apply and sinks in right away. Because I'm more of a dry-skinned lizard myself, I like to follow up after about 20 minutes with a heavier cream or facial oil, but if you've got normal or oily skin this would be perfect on its own. They've got a more moisturizing counterpart (called the "Moisturizing Bomb"), which is probably more suited to my skintype, but I just love layering the more lightweight one with my other skincare. It feels so soothing and cooling on the skin as well, so it's really been helping calm down any redness that may flare up throughout the day. I typically use this at night, but it also works beautifully under makeup - that slight plumping action makes the skin exceptionally smooth, so makeup applies quite nicely over it. It also has a light "clean" scent that's really pleasant and doesn't irritate my skin at all.
The other piece I picked to try out was the First Aid Anti-Hangover Soothing Mask. I knew from the name alone I was going to love this - it sounded like the perfect remedy to my constantly dehydrated, stressed-out skin. I was hooked from my first use - it immediately knocked out a lot of the redness in my skin, including the redness and swelling of some painful under-the-skin spots. It applies as a clear gel that I like to massage into my skin a little and then let it sit for 10-20 minutes before rinsing off. My skin feels beautifully moisturized after I remove the mask - I now know the true meaning of dewy skin, and it keeps my skin dewy even hours after I've removed it. When linking the product I noticed Sephora describes it as an "overnight mask," although the box it came in does say to remove after 10 minutes. I'd imagine this would be amazing when left on the skin overnight, so I'll be sure to try it that way and report back. Anyway, I've noticed with continued use the results of the mask last longer and longer. It's the first thing I reach for after a stressful day or if I'm feeling the beginnings of some spots. It has the same refreshing and clean scent as the Aqua Bomb, for those wondering. For some real magic, I like to apply the Aqua Bomb after this mask, and my skin is literally glowing all the way through until morning.
After this glowing introduction to the brand, I'm dying to get my hands on some more - next on my wishlist are the First Aid Overnight Brightening Mask and the Hungarian Water Essence.
