Date Night Makeup

My boyfriend and I have been dating for over four years and practically spend every free minute together, but we still like to designate a night every week for date night, whether it be cooking together, going to a movie, or going to a restaurant (one of our recent date nights was going to a local restaurant that the newspaper had deemed serves up the best burritos around to test that theory, and the newspaper was indeed correct). I always like to play with my makeup and get a little more dolled up than my usual everyday/work makeup (although I still go for a natural look), so I thought I'd go through my most reached for date night products.

No matter what condition my skin is in, I'll always use a light layer of the Diorskin Nude Skin-Glowing Foundation. This just makes my skin look so healthy, awake, and glowing from within. I'll do any concealing with the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer - this is by far the best multi-tasking concealer I've tried and works equally well on redness, blemishes, and dark circles. I like to go for a soft neutral blush, like the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed, swept higher up on the cheekbones for a more sculpted effect without needing a separate contour.

I'll fill in my eyebrows with the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade because the result is a perfected yet natural brow. Nine times out of ten I'll reach for my Urban Decay Naked3 Palette - if these aren't perfect "date night" colors I don't know what are. The soft rosy-hued shades are still neutral, yet give a softer, more romantic look. I also love using Benefit's Creaseless Cream Shadow in RSVP as a base because the pink-champagne shade fits in nicely with the colors in the palette. My go-to look from the palette is Burnout (3rd from left) on the lid with Limit (4th from left) or Nooner (7th from left) in the crease, and sometimes I'll put a little bit of Liar (8th from left)- my favorite shade from the palette - in the outer corner. I'll softly line my upper lashline with the double-ended 24/7 Glide On Eyeliner that goes with the palette, and put a little of the Benefit Watt's Up highlighter in the inner corners of my eyes to brighten everything up. I'll curl my eyelashes and apply a coat or two of the Clinique Lash Power Feathering Mascara for a fanned out fluttery look.

Lastly is lips, and I always go for a neutral option rather than a bold that has to be constantly checked on and touched up. My current favorite is the Nars Audacious Lipstick in Anita, but the Dior Addict Lip Glow or the Maybelline Color Elixir in Caramel Infused are lovely as well.

Do you do your makeup any differently on "date nights?"
