Taylor here again. So by the time you're reading this, I will be finished with my first semester of college, which is a very weird thought for me. It feels like I just moved to Boston a month ago. Anyway, as the semester is winding down, I thought I'd take some time and share with you my favorites from the fall semester.
My first product is the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette. Kelsey got me this for my birthday, so while I've barely had it a month, I have literally used it every day. The colors are simply beautiful and so easy to blend and apply that I don't mind taking the little bit of extra time in the morning to apply it. I tend to use a blend of Foxy and Walk of Shame all over the lids, Naked 2 in the outer corner, Faint blended into the crease, and Crave smudged along the lash line. Finishing up with Venus in the inner corner gives a beautiful natural look that uses every color in the palette, which almost never happens.
My next favorite is a little odd, but it is seriously so good I had to mention it. It's the Gillette Venus and Olay razor. While, if we're being honest, I originally picked this out because they were yellow (favorite color and old habits die hard), these are seriously amazing. They have the five blades of the Venus razor with bars of Olay lotion on either end, meaning you don't really need shaving cream. And I'm not exaggerating when I say using these means I only have to shave my legs once a week and they are still pretty smooth in that time.
Another favorite is the Jouer Mineral Powder Blush in Peony. This is seriously one of the most beautiful blushes I've ever seen. It's a bright blue-toned pink but looks so natural when on the cheeks. It just looks like you flush a beautiful color, especially because it blends like an absolute dream no matter if it's over the top of foundation or just on bare skin.
And my last favorite of my first semester at school would have to be the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Coffee Shimmer (264). First of all, it's cheap, which as a now broke college student I can always appreciate. But more than that it's a gorgeous pinky-brown shade with a hint of shimmer without being frosted. Blended down a bit on the lips, it makes them look bigger and slightly darker than their natural shade without being over the top, making it absolutely perfect for fall and winter, although I bought this over the summer and wore it then as well - it's a really versatile shade. It especially looks nice with the natural eye look of the Naked Basics palette and the brightening effect of the Jouer blush. See what I did there?
