The working title for this post was the “I put off washing my brushes for too long last night and now they’re still wet” edit. Has that ever happened to you? I woke up on Monday to damp brushes and had to scramble to figure out what to do - luckily I had an arsenal of products ready that apply just fine with fingers.
For my base, I picked a tinted moisturizer - I find that the ones I’ve tried just apply best with fingers. Right now I’m loving the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue (expect me to harp on a lot about this in the coming months) for its lightweight texture and skin-perfecting qualities.
For cheeks, I had to use the Stila Convertible Color in Lilium. I finally got my hands on this and fully understand the hype. It’s the most beautiful creamy and dewy product that lasts quite awhile on the cheeks for being a cream product. The shade Lilium is the perfect everyday pink as well.
Since I’ve been more into contour lately, I reached for my new Kevyn Aucoin The Creamy Glow in Duo 4 - it’s a tiny little duo housing cream versions of his famous Sculpting and Celestial powders. It applies perfectly with fingers and gives a subtle contour without needing brushes.
For brows, I couldn’t use my usual Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade because even my tiny angled brow brush was still wet. I instead reached for the Anastasia Brow Wiz. For eyes, I grabbed the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Creamy Beige for a subtle wash of color that was easily slapped on and blended out with a finger. Since this is a more low-key look, I reached for my L’Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara for tons of fluttery length without the dramatic volume.
On my lips I used a new everyday staple, the Tarte LipSurgence Matte Lip Tint in Envy. Despite looking like a dark mauve/berry in the tube, it actually applies very naturally to the lips, giving a noticeable tint without being too bold or vampy.
