I mentioned in my post on Tuesday how I haven't been wearing much makeup lately. My daily routine has pretty much turned into a bit of filling in my brows, a swipe of eyeliner, and a couple lashings of mascara before running out the door. Since I've started this pared-down routine, I haven't worn all that much eyeshadow, but when I have, it's been those kinds of products that you can just swipe on, blend out with a finger, and look like you've put in a lot more effort than you really did.
The ones I reach for most these days are cream eyeshadows. My all-time favorite cream eyeshadow formula is that of the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadows - I have the shade Marie Antoinette, and it's the most perfect everyday bronze. I like that it's not a super warm shade, which with my cool skin, would take a little more effort to pull off. It's the perfect product to slap on for a little bit of definition and a little bit of shimmer.
Another cream product I'm constantly reaching for is the By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock. This seems to be quite the cult product, and it really deserves the hype in my opinion. This is the ultimate rushed-morning product for me, as I can swipe it on without an eyelid primer underneath and it'll still last through the day without creasing. The color is stunning as well, a really pretty purple/burgundy/bronze.
The last cream bit in this roundup is the Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in R.S.V.P. I had forgotten how much I liked this - it's such a nice, creamy formula, but unfortunately it does crease on me, even with a primer. But it lasts about half the day, and it blends right back out super easily so it doesn't bother me. It's a really nice champagne-y pink shade that really brightens the eyes.
The one I go for when I'm wanting the ultimate no-makeup makeup look is the Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in Hanky Panky. It's the perfect matte neutral taupe-y color that just adds a hint of definition to the eyes without really calling much attention to itself. If you're doing a more dramatic eye look it makes for an amazing transition shade as well.
Another taupe-y color (can you tell they're my favorite?) is the NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow in Himalia. This one is quite similar in color to the Charlotte Tilbury cream eyeshadow mentioned above, but perhaps with a bit more silver. When used dry, it adds the perfect hint of shimmer for everyday.
And last but not least is the ultimate one-stop eye, the MAC Eyeshadow in All That Glitters. It's the most perfect peachy-pink-champagne that somehow brightens and defines the eyes. It looks amazing just on its own with lots of mascara - perfect for when I don't have time for eyeliner.
