One of my favorite things that's come out of my spending ban is falling back in love with old favorites. Lately I've found myself reaching for things that were once everyday staples - the feeling is (almost) just as good as shiny new makeup.
I mentioned in my No-Foundation Base Routine that I had been using the Cover FX Calming Primer, and it's still been in my everyday roundup. It really does calm down the redness in my skin, meaning I need less foundation/concealer on top. It helps keep the skin hydrated, but not overly dewy. If redness/irritated skin is a concern, then I'd definitely recommend this.
When not using the Glossier skin tint, I've been using the Milk Makeup Sunshine Skin Tint a lot. I love the rollerball packaging, as it's super easy to apply on the skin, and it gives the most beautiful glowy finish. It has an oil base, so it gives even more of a glow than the Glossier one. It can make me feel a little greasy by the end of the day, so it's one that I pair with a powder in my T-zone. Regardless, it's still a favorite.
Speaking of Milk Makeup, I've also fallen back in love with their Matte Bronzer in Baked. I always come back to it - it's just my favorite cream bronzer. It's a good shade and doesn't pull too orange on me, and it blends out so easily. I stripe it on my cheekbones, temples, and across the bridge of my nose and then blend it with a dense brush like the Real Techniques Sculpting Brush. It works with fingers, but it buffs in perfectly and really quickly with a brush. It's been keeping me from looking like a zombie this summer.
I've been getting back into the monochrome makeup look (I feel like it'll really be my thing this fall), so my Bite Beauty Multisticks have been getting a lot of use. The one I've been reaching for the most lately is Gelato, a beautiful cool-toned lavender shade that looks lovely on the cheeks and eyes. It's a little too gray-toned for my lips, but a teeny bit dabbed on over some balm really pulls the whole look together.
As I mentioned in my Eyeshadow post, I've been actually using eyeshadow again! After writing that post, I put the Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette back into my everyday pile, and I've been reaching for it over and over. I don't do super dramatic looks with it, but I love the pink tones of the palette.
Speaking of pink, the last makeup thing I've really been falling for again has been the Dior Lip Glow Pomade. The packaging is just too pretty, and it leaves a lovely sheen on the lips. It feels really comfortable and nourishing, and it makes the perfect topper to any lip color or looks great on its own.
I'd say I get a fair amount of use out of my whole skincare collection, but I've definitely been reaching for the Indie Lee Squalene Facial Oil more and more lately. It's super lightweight so it works for daytime, and I find it really helps keep my skin balanced and hydrated throughout the day. I can already feel my skin getting more dry as we come to the end of summer, so oils have been must-haves for sure.
