From now until March 10, Dermstore is having their Beauty Refresh sale where select brands are up to 20% off with the code GLOWUP - I love shopping with Dermstore, so I figured I’d share some of my favorites that are available at a discount in case you’re shopping the sale! (I’ve included one product from EltaMD below that’s not included, but EltaMD has 2x points if you have a Dermstore account - everything else is discounted.) I’ve really been taking care to keep my skincare routine more consistent in the past year, and I think my skin has been thriving because of it. So everything here has gotten a lot of consistent use from me!
Allies of Skin Peptide & Antioxidants Firming Daily Treatment - Allies of Skin rarely goes on sale, and it’s a pricy brand, so I highly recommend checking them out in the sale if you’ve been curious about their products. This daily moisturizer is one of my favorites, and I’m so tempted to get a backup! It has the loveliest texture (not quite velvety yet not quite dewy), and it feels intensely nourishing despite not being heavy on the skin. I notice quite a difference in the firmness and bounciness of my skin when I’m using this.
Allies of Skin Molecular Silk Amino Hydrating Cleanser - This is one of my favorite nighttime cleansers. It’s so gentle and leaves my skin so soft after cleansing, and it never feels drying. It can also break down and remove makeup and sunscreen, although I usually use an oil-based cleanser for that. It has a jellylike consistency that gently lathers and washes away with no residue.
Avene Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream - I’m sure you’re sick of hearing about the eczema on my eyelids, but this really helps soothe it and keep it at bay. It’s a super thick, almost balmy, cream that really does feel instantly soothing and calming. It’s also been great on areas of my face that have gotten windburned while walking the dogs in the cold this winter!
Avene Tolerance Extreme Cream - This is another one of my favorite daily moisturizers. It’s incredibly gentle and only has eight ingredients. It’s thinner than the Allies of Skin moisturizer mentioned above, but still very nourishing and moisturizing enough to work for me in the winter. This is the one I always turn to when my skin is freaking out a bit, and I always have a backup on hand.
bareMinerals Complexion Rescue - The original Complexion Rescue Gel Cream became an instant favorite when it launched years ago, and it still is one of my absolute favorite base products to date. It has the most perfect, slightly glowy finish that makes my skin look so healthy and illuminated. I love that it sets down and feels like nothing on the skin. It has light coverage, but it’s just enough to gloss over some imperfections - the perfect everyday base in my opinion.
bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Stick - This came out a couple years ago and also instantly became a favorite. I love using stick foundations on a daily basis because they’re so easy to slap on and go, and this one takes everything I love about the original Complexion Rescue and puts it in stick form. It has slightly more coverage and leaves a slightly more natural finish on the skin than the original, but I use them interchangeably!
bareMinerals Strength & Length Mascara - I randomly saw someone using this mascara in their Instagram stories about a month ago, and it looked right up my alley. I’m always testing new mascaras, but this has become my go-to for everyday. It has a unique paddle-shaped wand that catches every lash and lifts them up. It’s on the more subtle side, which is exactly what I’m looking for for everyday. It lengthens and defines each lash and fans them out beautifully, and it lasts well throughout the day without smudging and without the curl dropping. I’ve been raving about this to anyone who will listen lately!
Bioderma Atoderm Cleansing Oil - This is a shower staple for me, especially in the winter. I’m a big fan of body cleansing oils because they keep the skin moisturized while they’re cleansing, rather than stripping it. I love that this one comes in a giant bottle, too (my last bottle has lasted well over a year now). It does have a scent, but I find it’s not too overpowering, and it doesn’t linger once you’re out of the shower. It’s a typical Bioderma scent - a little fresh and floral? It’s also great to use for shaving, too!
Bioderma Atoderm Intensive Balm - My go-to body and hand cream in the winter. Again, it comes in a big bottle that will last awhile. Don’t let the 'balm’ in the name fool you: this doesn’t feel heavy or clogging. It is a thick cream, but it sinks in quite quickly. I moisturize just out of the shower, and by the time I’ve brushed through my hair afterwards it’s already sunk in and I’m ready to get dressed. I keep a big bottle on my desk at work and am just constantly using it on my hands - it doesn’t make them too slippery to get right back on my computer, and I think it’s the reason why my hands haven’t cracked all winter.
Bioderma Hydrabio Milk - I'm on my third bottle of this and think it’s such an underrated product! I don’t need much of a cleanse in the morning, especially in the winter, and I find rubbing the Hydrabio Milk into dry skin and quickly rinsing with cool water is perfect for me. It doesn’t actually need to be rinsed, I just like to use it that way. It feels nice and gentle, and it also is great for removing makeup in the evenings (again, I just prefer an oil-based cleanser, but this works well).
Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask - This is another product we go through loads of in my house - it’s my husband’s favorite! I love this hair mask because it leaves my hair so soft and smooth, but it never feels weighed down or needs a wash sooner than usual after I use it.
Dermaflash Dermapore Ultrasonic Pore Extractor & Serum Infuser - I’m not usually one to stick to using beauty devices consistently, but I love using this one! It’s so satisfying to see all the gunk it’s pushing up out of your pores. It’s easy to use - simply wet your skin and apply slight pressure as you push the metal edge across your skin, and the ultrasonic pulses help to loosen and remove dirt and debris from your pores. I’ve been using this a lot to keep my skin from getting too clogged and congested from wearing a mask, and it’s been keeping “maskne” at bay for me.
EltaMD UV Elements Tinted Sunscreen - EltaMD is not included in the sale this time, but I still wanted to mention this because they have 2x points on the brand if you have a Dermstore account! This is my favorite sunscreen, and I wear it every day. The tint is very sheer and just enough to even out and warm up my skin a bit, and it leaves a really nice, healthy glow. It doesn’t feel sticky or chalky - in fact, it simply feels like a moisturizer. It’s been hard for me to find a physical SPF that feels like that, so this has become my everyday go-to!
Holifrog Galilee Antioxidant Dewy Drop - This was one of my favorite products from last year! It’s a milky antioxidant serum that I really enjoyed (and am considering repurchasing in the sale). It was hydrating and felt beautiful on the skin, and it left a really nice glow. It was one of my favorite parts of my morning skincare routine when I was using it!
Indie Lee Clearing Mask - I don’t mask that much anymore, but I do always make time for the Indie Lee Clearing Mask once every couple weeks or so. Clay masks usually really dry me out, but this one doesn’t - I think the key is that it doesn’t really dry down. Besides clay to draw out impurities, it also contains salicylic and glycolic acids to gently exfoliate dead skin cells, as well as zinc oxide and chamomile to soothe the skin. This always manages to clear up or speed up the healing process of any active blemishes in just one use, so I’ve pretty much emptied my collection of other purifying masks at this point.
Neocutis Lumiere Illuminating Eye Cream - A few of my favorite blogs were raving about this eye cream over the summer, so I used Dermstore’s sale at the time to try it out. And I’m hooked! It’s hydrating enough to really smooth out and nourish my undereyes, but it wears really well underneath makeup without concealer slipping, pilling, or creasing. I’ve noticed with consistent use that my eyes do seem a bit brighter, and some fine lines I had before are much smoother. It’s worth the hype (and the price) for me!
REN Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm - I’ve been using this for years at this point, and I think I’ve applied it as the last step of my skincare routine almost every night since I first got it. A little goes a long way, and it works as a really nice final layer to lock all my other skincare in. As the name says, it’s very soothing and comforting and helps clear up any irritation from the day. I’ll be buying backups as long as REN keeps it in their product lineup!
Virtue Create 6-in-1 Styler - I’m very wishy-washy with what I use in my hair, but this has kept a consistent spot in my post-shower routine since I got it last summer. I find it helps keep frizz at bay, and it also allows my hair to dry without looking too puffy and “freshly-washed.” It also doesn’t weigh my hair down or cause any greasiness.
